
MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has been roped in as the Indian brand ambassador for Levi Strauss' 'Signature' collection.
Kapoor has signed a one-year endorsement deal for the brand which can be further extended.
Says Levi Strauss & Co - India country manager Shumone Chatterjee, "India is a strong growth market for our brand and signing on Shahid as its face will help us create a closer connection with our young audience,"
The first campaign with Shahid Kapoor will be shot sometime next month.
Prior to Kapoor, Deepika Padukone was the Indian brand ambassador for the Levis Strauss Signature brand. Her contract ended in December 2008.
Akshay Kumar, meanwhile, is another Bollywood actor who is associated with this jeanswear. He endorses Levis 501 and has already shot an ad campaign for its summer camp collection. His contract ends in 2011.
